This shows where we walk and meet the ravens
The yellow and pink squiggly lines are two walks we take. The yellow one is the one we usually do. The squigglyness indicates how Madame visits her several important sniffing check-points!
We stop several times to feed the ravens, and you can see where they come from.

If you right-click on the image and open it in a new tab, you can then zoom in to see more details.

Saturday, Nov 13th, 2010

Rain overnight, but only some faint drizzle when we left the house at 7.10 a.m. No wind, so it felt mild.

We went straight to the tennis courts - the ravens only came once we were inside. Their behaviour has not changed at all.

Miss Sophie chased one, who flew off, cawing, to sit on one of the nets.
She barked at him as well - which is unfortunate for the raven, but nice for Miss Sophie, because she doesn't bark much, and this shows she is enjoying herself and is feeling relaxed.

It was the same pair as before - but today, just as we left, one other came - he has one feather missing in his tail. He got some titbits from me - and the two ravens in 'possession' of the tennis courts were mightily displeased. They had flown off, but came swooping in from the high fence, cawing.

Going back home we met Karen and Bas again - and again Bas and Miss Sophie took no notice of each other. Well - at least she doesn't attack him as soon as she sees him, so that is progress ...

Hey {Yma} - it's realwest again! I'm glad there was no wind to speak of today - and even more pleased to note that Miss Sophie was having fun and barking (even if at a Raven!).
Have you seen the Bold Raven recently? I haven't seen you mention him at all.
Anyway, I do hope you'll keep your cold and wet weather walks to a minimum - only as much as you need to; need to keep up your health too,you know!!

Hiya, {rw}!

No - I haven't seen the Bold Raven since the summer.
I am not sure if he has gone somewhere else, or if he's gone forever.
seeing today's raven fly overhead, I thought he may still be around, and that the two in the tennis court may be his offspring. Adults do let their young get on with things on their own, that's why I hope he's keeping an eye on them.
I've also not seen his companion, or the young pair - so I'm waiting for deep winter and hard frost to see if they'll all come, just as they did last year.

I'm keeping warm and dry - always following the old saying that there's no such thing as bad weather - there's only unsuitable clothes!
