It was a lovely sunny morning when we left the house at 7.30 a.m. BST. It was still rather nippy, though.
We went round the long way again, not hearing raven calls until we came to the ravens field. Here, ravens did call, but it sounded quite distant.
This was the young pair, a bit skittish as usual, and flying off as soon as they'd picked up a couple of scraps before coming back.
Then Archie and Duffy appeared, the two boisterous whippets, so the ravens fled, and we walked back the more-food way.
The ravens did not follow us, and the quarry pair also did not appear when I threw a few scraps into the enclosure in the big field.
So we walked back home, looking forward to a frosty night ...
The fox did not put in an appearance today, but he/she is definitely around, Miss Sophie was very interested sniffing the fence to the allotments from which direction he came yesterday.
